Goats In The Winter

I love to see our goats in the winter. They get these furry coats, that make them look like they've turned into these bear-type things.  Especially because they're pregnant and getting chubby. You can sort of see it in these photos:

Their faces get so chubby, and they look super warm. And that is more than anyone else can say. LOL

The boys hate it when the goats get to stay inside all the time. It means they have to muck out all the straw and hay that Mom insists that they put down. We put down a lot of bedding to help them stay warm.

It looks so cool when the pasture is white, and you can see the trails that the goats have blazed. Goats would rather stay on the path, then get their hooves wet. You can kinda see it here:

I'm am so glad that we have goats! I like the winter, when they get so chubby and cute. But I love the spring, when this happens.

Having goats is a wonderful experience. All of it. Including...

  1. staying up with them when they are kidding
  2. cleaning out their stall
  3. chasing them when they get loose and try to eat your apple trees
  4. etc...
And I hope any animal owner would agree with me. :)
