But You Said...

Hewitt has been having difficulty getting dressed lately. Most of the time he would prefer to spend the entire day in his pajamas. He already ripped a thousand holes in his Pirates pajamas by running around outside in them.

So this morning, when he got dressed in pajamas again, I told him, "Hewitt, go and get a pair of pants out of your drawer and put them on."

Well, he obeyed. Unfortunately, he came back looking like this:

Our conversation went something like this:

Me: "Hewitt, honey, those pants don't fit you."

Hewitt: "But they were in my drawer."

Me: "But they don't fit."

Hewitt: "But they were in my drawer."

Me: "But they're too big."

Hewitt: "But they were in my drawer."

Me: "But they keep falling down."

Hewitt: "But they were in my drawer."

[Astute readers may have remembered by this point that I told him to get pants out of his drawer and put them on. Exhausted mothers will understand that I had completely forgotten that I had told him to get pants out of his drawer.]

Me: {heaving big sigh} "Fine, go get a shirt."

You can't win them all... :)
